When you follow in your mums footsteps and become a Cabin Crew

“My mum is Cabin Crew for QantasLink. She puts on her uniform and practically beams with excitement when she leaves for work. Her career advice to me was to find something I love and give it everything I’ve got. So, I followed in her footsteps and found myself at QantasLink as Cabin Crew and I absolutely love it.

 

I am based in Adelaide and it’s like coming to work every day with your best friends. Sometimes I get to fly with Mum and inevitably no matter how hard I try not to, I usually accidentally refer to her as “Mum” once or twice during the flight which gives customers a bit of a giggle. She gives me the look (we all know THAT look from our Mum) but I am so proud to work alongside her and I know she is too.”

“Working in aviation runs in my family, and I’m incredibly proud to have followed in my parent’s footsteps. My mum has worked at Qantas for the past 30 years, joining QantasLink in 1994, and then Mainline as a Customer Service Manager.

My father started working in aviation in the early 90s, eventually joining Qantas 20 years ago.

 

 When I joined QantasLink last year, it instantly became a second family for me as I have grown up around the business. I will never forget how excited I was to share the news with my family.”
