What do Marc Navarro, one of Iberias Cabin Crew and the latest A350 they have added to their fleet have in common?
All Iberia aircraft, in addition to having their corresponding registration number, are named with names that have an important symbolism for the airline. People or organisations linked to aviation, such as Patrulla Águila or María Pepa Colomer; Latin American cities, such as Buenos Aires or Ciudad de Quito; personalities who have a direct relationship with Iberia, such as Pau Gasol – ambassador of the airline’s cultural change – or Teresa Helbig – designer of its uniforms -, among others.
This plane, with registration EC-OAY, bears the name of the National Transplant Organisation on its fuselage, an organisation with which Iberia has been collaborating selflessly for 10 years, facilitating the transfer of organs to be transplanted. During these years, the Iberia Group has transported 843 organs on its aircraft with the aim of getting them to their destination as soon as possible and saving lives.
Lives, such as that of Marc Navarro, an Iberia flight attendant and kidney transplant recipient, thanks to the generosity of a donor.
