Flight attendants at German flag carrier Lufthansa will take part in the latest strike action

All Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine flights departing from Frankfurt on Tuesday 12 March and all departures from Munich Airport on Wednesday 13 March will be affected.

The union is pressing for an immediate 15% pay raise, while Lufthansa is presently proposing a 9.25% increase, set to take effect only by August 2025.

“We call on all Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine cabin crew members mentioned in the respective strike notices to stop working to the extent specified therein. It is now up to the employer to respond appropriately to our wage demands,” said Joachim Vázquez Bürger, Chairman of the UFO Executive Board, who further stressed that the demands are reasonable and fair considering that on Thursday Lufthansa Group reported profits of 2.7 billion euros over the period 2023.

Harry Jaeger, UFO’s Head of Collective Bargaining Policy and chief negotiator, said that there have been 15 rounds of negotiations in which Lufthansa has not been favourable to the orders. “We cannot understand this. We would have liked to find good results for our colleagues at the negotiating table, as has been the norm in the past,” he said.
