Flight 4819: Delta CEO interview and customer status update
Following Monday’s single-aircraft accident involving Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, Ed joined CBS Mornings Wednesday to express gratitude for the crew and commend their professionalism.
“Our Endeavor crew performed heroically, but also as expected,” said Ed. “The reality is that safety is embedded into our system.”

The Delta Care Team is continuing their work in Toronto to provide support to customers, employees and loved ones of those involved in Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, on Monday.
As of Wednesday morning, 20 of the 21 injured passengers initially transported to local hospitals have been released.
Delta Care Team representatives are assisting customers with hotels, meals, transportation and any other personal needs. Delta teams will begin the process of reuniting customers with baggage and personal belongings as soon as possible after authorities have safely removed the items from the aircraft. Securing, identifying, sorting and cleaning all belongings left onboard could take a matter of weeks before all items can be safely returned.
Delta and Endeavor teams remain in Toronto and are cooperating fully as participants in the investigation. Maintenance teams are standing by to remove the aircraft from the runway Wednesday once it’s safe to do so.

Delta teams continue to respond to Monday’s single-aircraft accident involving Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air.
In total, 21 injured passengers were initially transported to local hospitals. As of Tuesday morning, 19 have been released.
“Our most pressing priority remains taking care of all customers and Endeavor crew members who were involved,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. “We’ll do everything we can to support them and their families in the days ahead, and I know the hearts, thoughts and prayers of the entire Delta community are with them. We are grateful for all the first responders and medical teams who have been caring for them.”
Delta’s incident response team deployed to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) Monday evening, including specially trained Delta Care Team representatives who provide support for customers, employees and their loved ones. Members of Endeavor Air’s leadership team are also on site to provide support and ensure full cooperation with investigators.
Delta and Delta Connection flights have resumed at YYZ, however two Delta flights are operating with larger aircraft to allow for greater arrival and departure capacity Tuesday. A travel waiver remains in effect on Delta.com for YYZ customers for travel through Feb. 20.

Delta’s incident response team deployed to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) Monday evening to support efforts surrounding Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, that was involved in a single-aircraft accident at YYZ around 2:15 p.m. ET.
The team includes specially trained Delta Care Team representatives who will provide support for customers and their loved ones. Members of Endeavor Air’s leadership team, including CEO Jim Graham, are also en route to ensure full cooperation with investigators.
No fatalities have been reported and some of the customers initially transported to area hospitals have been released.

Delta people have been working to reaccommodate customers impacted by cancellations at YYZ today. No additional operational changes are scheduled for Tuesday; however, customers should continue to monitor the status of their flight via the Fly Delta app.

Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ-900 aircraft, was involved in a single-aircraft accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at around 2:15 p.m. ET* on Monday. The flight originated from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
Initial reports indicate there are no fatalities and 18 customers with injuries have been transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted.
Delta has activated its Passenger Inquiry Center for family and loved ones of customers involved in today’s accident so they can connect with Delta for more information. In Canada, these individuals may reach out via 1-866-629-4775. In the United States, they may connect using 1-800-997-5454.

The flight was carrying a total of 80 people – 76 passengers and four crew.
Delta has cancelled its flights to and from YYZ for the remainder of the evening and has issued a travel waiver. Details of the waiver can be found on Delta.com. Delta is working to connect with customers whose flights have been impacted. Customers should also monitor the status of their flight via the Fly Delta app.
