Aerolíneas Argentinas has got new uniforms

Aerolíneas Argentinas unveiled the new uniforms for ground and flight service personnel with important innovations in terms of design, materials and application of the brand’s colors.

The presentation took place at the Aerolíneas Argentinas corporate building in Aeroparque and included the participation of Pablo Ceriani, president of the airline, Benito Fernández, who was in charge of the uniform design, and Ricky Sarkany, in charge of the footwear design. In addition, managers, aeronautical authorities and workers attended.

Under the slogan ‘The modern world calls for a modern uniform’, the new pieces carry on the front the color palette that distinguishes the Aerolíneas brand throughout the world: like the fuselage of the plane, light blue and white is established as predominant in the flight uniforms, while blue and white will represent the ground personnel. These colors are reflected in a more comfortable, modern, current and elegant design at the same time.

We worked on the design of the pieces under 3 essential pillars: Brand identity, comfort and convenience/modernity. Regarding the first point, it was decided to give more prominence to the main color of the brand identity manual, Pantone 3005, a light blue that represents the colors, in turn, the colors of Argentina. Another important fact is that the characteristic scarf remains.

To achieve the final result, the company carried out a satisfaction survey associated with the current uniform, from which it emerged that more than 70% of those who work in the company agreed to make a change that would allow them a greater feeling of comfort and convenience. when performing their tasks.

In addition, other aspects of the new work clothes deserve to be highlighted: the presence of the classic condor through the aerodynamic dyes of the design, the use of fabrics with spandex that allow greater comfort when working than current rigid fabrics and the normalization of the use of pants for everyone, being more egalitarian. As for footwear, a versatile shoe was chosen, with its own and comfortable style.

Another relevant aspect has to do with sustainability: the new uniform implies a reduction in the number of pieces, going from 9 to 6. The stripes were also eliminated from the suits, using pins to distinguish ranks and positions, which allows a reduction in costs and use of materials.

“This uniform reflects what we want to be and what we are: on the one hand, a modern airline that adapts to social changes and new ways of flying, without losing the classic elegance that characterizes Aerolíneas Argentinas. . In some way, it represents exactly this moment of the company, in which changes have been made that have allowed us to grow without losing our essence,” Ceriani explained.

“The concept was born in part from thinking about abstract ideas and morphologies that represent today’s world through the work of an airline: modernity, comfort and elegance are present in this uniform. It is a dream come true and a milestone in my career to be able to represent my country through a brand like Aerolíneas Argentinas,” said Fernández.

“The design prototypes arise from an aesthetic and socio-cultural analysis that we carried out of this current moment after having gone through the pandemic,” commented Sarkany.

This renewal occurs after 13 years of maintaining the same uniform. During this period of time, the world changed and the industry changed: new values ​​such as sustainability, inclusion, equality and comfort were incorporated into the aeronautical world. The changes introduced by Aerolíneas Argentinas go in the same direction as those of other legacy companies such as KLM, Iberia or Avianca.
