Porter Airlines is hiring Bilingual Flight Attendant – Ottawa Base (YOW) 

Cabin Crew – Full-Time

Reporting to the In-Flight Services Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Porter passengers while upholding the Flying Refined brand promise. The fleet type (Dash 8 or E195-E2) will be determined by the airline based on operational needs.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensuring the safety of all passengers
Effortlessly provide friendly and attentive service to ensure passenger comfort
Adhere to the standard operating procedures of your training program, in accordance with Transport Canada and Porter policies.
Perform the physical tasks of a flight attendant, such as lifting loads up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and assisting passengers in emergencies.
Tactfully manage unforeseen situations related to operations and passengers
Actively monitor the overall condition of the aircraft cabin and make the necessary modifications to maintain passenger safety or improve their experience.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Canadian passport or a valid international passport and a current U.S. crew member visa (C-1/D).
Must be at least 19 years old at the time of employment
High school diploma
Fluency in French and English is required.
At least two years of experience working with the public in a customer service role
Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and successfully complete the company’s background check process
Ability to meet required medical standards (including alcohol and drug testing) and all physical requirements of the position
Successful completion of a five- to six-week full-time training program with 100% attendance and passing all written and practical assessments
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as a safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work independently.
Must be available to work a rotating on-call schedule that includes weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights. Schedules and days off are assigned based on seniority through an online submission system.
Must be able to report to the assigned base airport within two hours of notification for flight duties.
