
Multiple passengers on an Hawaiian Airlines hurt after severe turbulence
Around 20 people were taken to hospital following the incident on a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Phoenix to Honolulu on Sunday (18 December).
Statement from Hawaiian Airlines
HA35 from PHX to HNL encountered severe turbulence & landed safely in HNL at 10:50 a.m. Medical care was provided to several guests & crew members at the airport for minor injuries while some were swiftly transported to local hospitals for further care.
We are supporting all affected passengers & employees and are continuing to monitor the situation.
UPDATE: We are continuing to support our guests and employees who sustained injuries today after Flight HA35 from PHX to HNL encountered severe turbulence. We are also conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft before returning it to service.
The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA) said that their union is responding to the developing incident in HNL and assisting crew onboard HA35. We are thankful the plane landed without further incident.
