Further to our two Press Releases with regard to AIR INDIA EXPRESS LTD accident of IX-344, B-737 from DXB to CCJ on 7 of August 2020 at Calicut, our thoughts and prayers are with all the passengers and crew and their families at this time of grief.

We would like to inform that the Chairman & Managing Director of Air India, Chief Executive Officer of Air India Express, Chief of Operations as well as the Chief of Flight Safety of Air India Express have already reached Calicut. The Go Teams and Angels of Air India have also reached Calicut, for being with the injured passengers as well as with the family members of the injured as well as deceased passengers.

Two special relief flights have been arranged from Delhi and one from Mumbai for rendering humanitarian assistance to all the passengers and the family members.

The Emergency Response Director is coordinating with all the agencies in Calicut, Mumbai as well as Delhi, Dubai for effective emergency response. The AAIB, DGCA & Flight Safety Departments have reached for investigating the accident.

Accident Bulletin – 2; 7th -August-2020

Accident –  AIXL Flight IX-1344

AIR INDIA EXPRESS LTD regrets to confirm that its flight IX-1344 from DXB to CCJ was involved in an accident on the 7th of August, 2020 at Calicut. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the passengers and crew and their families.

Further to our Press Release, we would like to inform that as of now there are 17 confirmed deceased including two pilots. The four cabin crew members are confirmed safe.

Emergency Response team members as well as Special Assistance Team members (Angels of Air India) have been pressed into service from Cochin, Mumbai and Delhi to render all possible assistance to the passengers as well as to the family members.

A special relief flight has been arranged from Mumbai and Delhi for rendering humanitarian assistance to all the passengers and the family members.

AIR INDIA EXPRESS LTD has established a passenger information centre, and a toll-free number has been made available for family or friends of those who may have been on board flight IX-1344. Friday Aug 7 local time India 10pm

Air India Express flight IX 1344 operated by B737 aircraft from Dubai to Kozhikode (CCJ) Kerala, India overshot runway at Kozhikode at 1941 hrs tonight. No fire reported at time of landing.
There ar 174 passengers, 10 infants, 2 pilots and 4 cabin crew on board the aircraft,

As per initial reports rescue operations are on and passengers are being taken to hospital for medical care.
